The songs in this album are inspired by Shannon's relationship with Christ and by the Word of God, particularly Haggai, Ephesians, and many of the Psalms of David.

Styles included are: pop, rock, Celtic, and jazz. Four tracks are English, one is Spanish.
The love of God
broke through and transformed me. The Lord ignited a passion in me to know Christ and help others discover who they are in Him – chosen, holy, forgiven, redeemed, children of God, co-heirs with Christ, which makes every person who has received Him . . .

Lyrics
Consider Your Ways

God’s message to Israel and the church through the prophet Haggai

© 2015 Shannon Butcher, Nate Dunn

Arranged by Cory Knowland

Are you building your house

when Mine lies desolate?

Are you feeding your flesh

while starving your spirit?

Are you living in fear? Well stop,

and take courage.

It’s time to do My work,

for I am with you.

Consider your ways, Oh My people,

Oh My people

Consider your ways, Oh My sons

and my daughters

Once more in a while,

I will shake the heavens,

And I will touch

the land and the sea

And in my house,

I’ll reveal my glory

And fill it up

with more glory than you've ever seen

Consider your ways, Oh My people,

Oh My people

Consider your ways, Oh My sons

and my daughters

Obey My voice. Rebuild My house.

Let My Spirit stir you now.

Obey My voice. Rebuild My house.

Let My Spirit stir you now.

Consider your ways, Oh My people,

Oh My people

Consider your ways, Oh My sons

and my daughters

Crowned with love and compassion

Holy, dearly loved

Given every heavenly blessing

Chosen before the world

Who am I that You would love me?

Who am I that You would know my name?

I am Your princess, Your beloved

And You gave everything for me.

This is my destiny, Who I’m made to be

I am Your daughter, Co-heir with Christ

This is my destiny, Who I’m made to be

Your grace lavished over me, I am risen with Christ

Royalty

Predestined and adopted

By the kindness of Your plan

Redeemed, cleansed, forgiven

By the blood of Your Lamb

Who am I that I would be your delight?

Who am I to be seated with Christ?

I am Your princess,

Chosen before the creation of the world.

This is my destiny, Who I’m made to be

I am Your daughter, Co-heir with Christ

This is my destiny, Who I’m made to be

Your grace lavished over me, I am risen with Christ

Royalty

I am not yet what I will become

There is coming a day when I'll receive

the crown You're preparing for me.

This is my destiny, Who I’m made to be

I am Your daughter, Co-heir with Christ

This is my destiny, Who I’m made to be

Your grace lavished over me, I am risen with Christ

The Love of God

© 2006 Shannon Butcher

There is a strong unfailing love,

it is unshakable.

It has a voice that formed the earth

and made the oceans surge.

And this love had no beginning

and will not end.

This is the love of God

demonstrated in His Son.

The love of God

reaches down to me.

Emmanuel paid for my sins

and rescued me.

My very life I owe

to the love of God.

Without it,

where would I be?

There was a debt He had to pay

to let this slave go free.

He took my stripes and thorns and nails

upon Himself, you see?

For the joy set before Him,

He endured the cross.

This is the love of God

demonstrated in His Son.

The love of God

reaches down to me.

Emmanuel paid for my sins

and rescued me.

My very life I owe

to the love of God.

Without it,

where would I be?

Hold Me

© 2013 Shannon Michele Butcher

I cannot find the words to describe the pain.

It throbs and it aches, and there’s no remedy.

The loss delves to depths this heart has never known.

I think I’m doing ok until the wave comes.

It hits me like a wall, knocks me down again.

Am I still breathing, it’s all that I can do.

Hold me, hold me,

Hold me, and let me cry.

One moment I can laugh, the next I’m on my knees.

Oh God, why now? Dare I plead my case?

I’m hurting so bad, I feel like I could die.

Hold me, hold me,

Hold me, and let me cry.

I can see, a glimmer of Your glory

Shining through the veil of my grief.

I can feel Your kindness and comfort

Here with me.

Hold me, hold me,

Hold me, and let me cry.

Soy tu princesa

Escogida antes de la creación del mundo

Stories

"Consider Your Ways" is God's message through the prophet Haggai to the remnant of Israel who returned from Babylon and had begun rebuilding the temple. Then, they got distracted building their own houses, while the foundation of God's temple sat, and sat, and sat, unfinished for approximately 16 years. It's a message that very much applies to us today, as at least I (but probably most of us) tend to get distracted from God's calling and would rather follow our own agenda. I believe God is asking us to consider our ways too, and get back to work on building His kingdom. The song has a pop-rock style.

"Royalty" is a declaration of every child of God's true identity in Christ. The ideas contained in this song come from Psalm 103:4, Ephesians 1, Psalm 8, Romans 8:17. The song was released (online-only) as a single along with its Spanish version "Realeza" in the spring of 2016. "Royalty" is a pop-ballad or power-ballad.

"The Love of God" focuses on God's intense love for His children, demonstrated by the sacrifice of His own Son, Jesus. The song is a modern-day hymn with some Celtic styling and instrumentation.

"Hold Me" is the raw, cry of anguish as I felt the sting of death when my father passed away. It is an honest conversation and prayer with God in the midst of intense grief. The song has a jazz feel.

"Realeza" is a Spanish version of "Royalty." It was translated in preparation for Shannon to perform it live at VidaFest in Chimaltenango, Guatemala. The response from the crowd was amazing - men, women, and young people in the audience raised their hands and sang along... and it was the very first time they had heard the song! Shannon came home from the trip compelled by the Lord to record the song in both English and Spanish, believing that God would continue to use it to help His people walk in their identity in Christ.
